Ace of Hearts CardI carry an Ace of Hearts Card In my pocket I think of the boy who gave it to me He’ll never be forgotten He’s damaged; unwhole Dangerous for me Yet I feel for him My feelings are twisted. Sandwich Contemplation"DAN" I carefully wrote with the bright yellow mustard I was squeezing out of the container. It contrasted nicely with the speckled tan wheat bread I was making a sandwich with. On the other side I stacked two pieces of turkey lunch meat and one holey slice of Swiss cheese; each folded neatly in half. Then I quickly mashed the two sides together and cleaned up my mess. As I picked up my masterpiece, I considered what it might mean.Sandwich Contemplation
Maybe it means there’s too much between me and him for anything to ever work out. Or maybe if we did start anything, I’d smother him.

The memories abound and the smiles, though half-hearted, are genuine. A mix of emotions a varied as a box of crayons. But time has won its game, and so I must concede.
I bid you farewell with all the blessings of my heart. Here's to the good and here's to the bad. Because it will forever follow us into the unknown future.
